Lynn Hillas LCSW
Effective 11/1/21 - My practice is full and, regrettably, I am not able to accept new clients at this time.
Life can be tough. In countless ways.
I believe the best therapy provides vital respite in the form of a welcoming, encouraging and inspiring environment.
Clients can count on my integrity, experience, practicality, creativity and compassion.
I want you to feel the deep satisfaction of discovery, possibility and growth.
Welcome.
Often I think of my work in terms of 4 core concepts:
Authenticity: The commitment to a unique and true life.
Coherence: The willingness to live our stated values. Some use the term "misery gap" to refer to the distance between who we say we are/what we believe in - and how we actually show up in life. A commitment to living our values is an active stance - a privileging of possibility over despair.
Integration: The process by which we come to understand the experiences of our life in a rich and nuanced way. Integration moves the mind in the direction of complexity and a cohesive narrative - essential to mental health.
Attachment: The experience of deep connection with the key people in our lives - offering the possibility of security and wellbeing. The imperative of evolution is on our side here, as relationships are essential to survival, the human mind is ripe to learn the skills of secure attachment.
